Volunteer Recruitment Team Member (Local / In-Person) Note:
This is a virtual position that will provide in-person volunteer recruitment support in the Batesville area to deliver volunteer recruitment materials, attend local meetings and present volunteer opportunities in person to community groups.
Purpose:
Volunteer Recruitment Team Members enable the organization to accomplish a primary part of the Red Cross mission, which is to mobilize the power of volunteers.
This volunteer position reports to the Regional Volunteer Recruitment Specialist and supports volunteer recruitment across all counties in the North Mississippi Chapter.
During large scale disaster operations within our Alabama Mississippi region, the role may be invited to support Disaster Event Based volunteer recruitment temporarily to sustain operational needs.
Training is provided at no cost, delivered online and is self-paced.
Activities:
Participate in regular virtual meetings to review volunteer needs and activity plans.
Perform virtual targeted recruitment activities to meet volunteer staffing needs.
Publish and update volunteer opportunity recruitment listings on staffing websites.
Create and update contacts and characteristics of targeted recruitment channels Respond to inquiries, ask and answer questions and help people apply as volunteers.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
